Just Deliver the Lunch
Woke up wondering why we (I) underestimate the little things we have before us? Then my mind went immediately to three people who were asked to do something simple: “just deliver the lunch”.
Joseph, a son of favor, was asked by his father one day to find his brothers, check on them and return with a report. The father cared about all of his children, he just wanted to know how they were doing and asked Joseph to do a simple task. All of us know what “wouldn’t” have happened…had he not obeyed.
David was approached by his father with a similar assignment. I imagine the conversation went something like this: “Son, I am concerned for your older brothers. Would you please take them some bread and cheese? They’re fighting a battle for the king and they need to know their family cares.” (NOTE: my rendition of the dialog.) Good thing David moved beyond criticism to the Cause.
The third person, also a young boy, left home with his lunch and found himself in a sea of people. Perhaps, out of a habit of generosity and a culture at home of honor, he offered what he had to a stranger, named Andrew. Five thousand were fed that day when what he gave up became a blessing beyond belief.
Encounters along the road to success are not always encouraging. A timeline is not always attached to a promise. Explanations and directions are not a pre-requisite for obedience.
So here’s the bottom line: “Just Deliver the Lunch…and He’ll Deliver the Dessert!”

FOUND: A GOoD “Not”!
In a previous post, (“Knots or Wood?”) I was walking down the path that “nots” are negative.
Wouldn’t (note this word contains both ~ would+not) you know that He interrupted me again…just long enough to put a smile on my face. Remember the GOoD NOTs!
Please take NOTe:
“Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget NOT all His Benefits! [Psalm 103:2-5]
- (Who) Forgives ALL your sins
- (and) Heals all your diseases
- (Who) Redeems your life from the pit
- (and) Crowns you with LOVE & COMPASSION
- (Who) Satisfies your desires with GOoD things
- so that your youth is renewed like the Eagle’s”
What’s your Vision like?
If it’s not as good as you want it to be, include this exercise in your daily routine:
EXERCISE: Discover, mark, embrace the GOoD “nots” in life and watch your Vision improve!
GOAL: Let’s start with 10 reps/day

Knots or Wood?
When my husband and I were deciding on a design for our log home, we chose one with a Gambrel roof. Our living room, therefore, has minimal cedar walls and a massive fir ceiling. For as long as we’ve lived here, it never ceases to subtly imprint the day with peace.
This morning I was in my usual supine position on the couch looking up at the ceiling…talking with God about Who He is, how He sees me, reviewing the dreams and desires in my heart as well as covering the people He brings to mind, when something caught my eye.

For some reason the knots embedded in the fir strips on the ceiling seemed to be more numerous than I’d ever noticed before. They beckoned attention. Their dark, intriguing shapes and sizes became a subtle distraction from my treasured time.
Then the thought occurred to me that there was more wood than knots. I reasoned, “I’ll just close my eyes.” The knots remained.
I’m not sure if it’s stubbornness or tenacity, but something rose up inside of me that determined what I wanted to focus on. Guess what? The ceiling became what it was meant to be: my covering. I regained my primary focus and continued to pursue the purpose I’m so passionate about…covering people in prayer.
Eyes closed or open, we get to choose what to focus on in life: the “nots” or the “would”. When life presents itself, is your tendency to drift towards the “not me” or “that’s not possible” or “it’s not the right time”?
I’m more of a “would” person:
“What would happen if we…..”
“I would like to try this, what do you think?”
“Would you like some help?”
Think possibility! He WOULD like to restore your focus!

My Lens is Smudged
Just exploring “how to blog” (without a coach, I might add). This is about as wise as taking off on a trip without a map.
To compound the situation, the world looks askew right now. Sad the world is so gray, dark, hopeless……………or is it?
Wait! I think I found the problem! It’s my glasses ~ they’re smudged! Just one second….ahhhhhhhhhhhh that’s better!
Whew! It wasn’t the world, the day, the gray…it was me. My Lens was Smudged.
It only takes a second. Before you venture out into the new day God has planned for you, make sure your lens is clean.
PS ~ If you need Help or Advice, He’d love to have you ask Him first!

This is Mind-Bloggling…
Several steps after getting out of bed this morning led me to “signing up for a blog site”.
I already knew I was not a techi (or is that tekki? or tecque?), but this is mind-bloggling! I like things SIMPLE.
Find a backdrop/wallpaper/theme…or whatever culture/language you happen to be in…seemed to be a simple thing.
I’m going to send this along with high hopes that I will have more control in the future than I do at present.
Isn’t life that way? I’d never know as much as I do now, if I hadn’t at least tried!
Aiming for a higher vantage point…heading for the Win.
